Urban Eco & Sustainability Walking Tour including a Native Foods Lunch

Discover a unique side of Melbourne on this urban sustainability walking tour that includes a very special native foods lunch.

About this Event

Discover how Melbourne, its communities and individuals are creating a more sustainable future for our city and the world on this unique 3-hour walking tour with lunch.

The Tour

As part of the National Sustainable Living Festival, this special tour will delve into important sustainability topics, such as urban design, architecture and government leadership, while visiting inspiring projects, buildings and urban gardens.

The tour will conclude with a special native Australian foods themed lunch at the social enterprise restaurant Charcoal Lane, where you will experience the unique flavours of Australia, and hear how these foods, as well as Aboriginal knowledge can help shape our future.

Your Guide

Your guide for this tour will be Liam, the founder of the Melbourne sustainability themed walking tour company, Wayward Wanders. He has a passion for sustainability and environmental protection, and loves to share his knowledge through his tours. Liam also works for one of Australia's largest food rescue organisations, OzHarvest, and in his spare time is currently studying Sustainability through the University of Tasmania.

Meeting Point

Liam will meet you at the front entrance of the Transport Hotel at Federation Square at 10am.

What to Bring

This tour is a walking tour, but it does include a short ride on the tram that will require a Myki Card. Please have your card topped up to avoid delays on the tour.

As the tour is outside we recommend checking the weather forecast (although in Melbourne, you never really know). Hat, sunscreen and re-usable water bottles are recommended, however a raincoat may also be needed. You may also like to bring a camera for taking a few snaps as we go and some money or card for any extra purchases.
