Market Makers Series: Street Sketching

Led by globetrotting illustrator and map-maker Alex Hotchin, this 3-hour workshop is designed to inspire you to get out and about drawing, sketching and painting in your 'hood.

In this workshop you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Learn tips and tricks about sketching outdoors – as an adventurer who’s made maps and artworks whilst adventuring across the globe, Alex will share her tips on equipment and techniques
  • Illustrate your own concertina sketchbook – you’ll sketch, draw or paint an amazing array of things you’ve discovered at the historic Queen Victoria Market, in your own sketchbook
  • Get an autographed copy of the new adventure map of QVM designed by Alex - a beautifully illustrated map of some of the incredible things she’s discovered at Queen Victoria Market

This workshop will provide all the materials you’ll need to get started (sketchbooks, pencils, pens, watercolours etc), but feel free to bring along your own favourite art implements.

You’ll also get to sample some of the delicious new circular snacks created by Chef Chris Locke being made in the new Moving Feast Kitchen at the Purpose Precinct at Queen Victoria Market.

Part of the Purpose Precinct's Market Maker masterclass series.

The Purpose Precinct is Australia's only social enterprise marketplace, supporting social enterprises to thrive. Is it supported by the Victorian Government, Social Enterprise Network Victoria and is led by founding partners STREAT and Good Cycles with delivery partner Green Collect
