Did you know that the shape and size of your glass affects the aroma, flavour and overall profile of wine? Hosted by RIEDEL Australia's BDM Candice Butka, this Tasting demonstrates the important role our wine glass plays in wine enjoyment.
With the use of four glasses from our Premium Machine-Made series, RIEDEL Winewings, you will see for yourself why shape matters.
This fascinating class incorporates decades of research and development in Grape Varietal Specific glassware and will give you a glimpse into RIEDEL's 270-year history of design and invention.

All About RIEDEL WinewingsIntroduced in 2020, RIEDEL Winewings loosely depicts the wing of an aircraft. Over the course of a year, through many tastings and by making changes to shape, size and rim diameter, the range was expanded, forming a collection of glasses suitable for the most popular grape varietals. Your set includes four stunning Premium-Machine-Made glasses:
RIEDEL Winewings features a flat and stretched bottom, with a wing-like shape to increase the surface area between wine and air. This increases the levels of evaporation and develops a greater intensity of aroma. When positioning one’s head to the glass, the nose is closer and is exposed to the wider surface of the wine. However, this alone would not fully deliver the optimal aroma of each grape variety, so to capture the delicate layered aromas, it was necessary to curve the glass walls and correctly calibrate the opening of each glass to its ideal rim diameter.
