Victoriana Gaye Quartet @ The Door Gallery Cafe

Victoriana Gaye don’t particularly sound like anybody else!

Acoustic guitar, electric guitar, trumpet and shared lead- harmony singing is

the backbone of the Victoriana Gaye sound. The songs themselves are

drawn from a diverse and broad musical knowledge, which includes jazz,

classic movie soundtracks, reggae, sunny psychedelia and their own blend of

indie/folk/rock.

Vicki Gaye Philipp and Jeff Raglus come from Aireys Inlet on the South West

coast of Victoria, and have packed a lot into the 15 years since they formed.

Recording 6 albums, ‘Five Songs’, ‘Our Pleasure’’,’Holy Roll’’, ‘Red Moon

Ray’, ‘The Freest of the Free’ and their latest ‘Happy Abduction’.

The Addition of Randall Forsythe on bass and Simon Dawe on drums (both

from The Beachniks) creates a fuller, more experimental and positive vibe.

They have played their original tunes at festivals and venues in The UK,

Europe, Japan, New Caledonia and continue to play locally and tour around

Australia.
