About Kaartdijin Dandjoo
Kaartdijin Dandjoo is a free, hands-on learning experience held at the Harvey Recreation and Cultural Centre across the six Noongar seasons. Developed with the support of members of the Harvey Aboriginal Corporation, this program provides an opportunity to learn, connect and explore Noongar culture and knowledge throughout the changing seasons.
This is the Djilba (growth season) program. Discover the Noongar names for plants and animals associated with Djilba, how they are traditionally used as food resources, and the important role they play in cultural practices including dance, song and storytelling.
Session 2: Creation Stories
Introducing Waakarl, a large serpent from the Dreaming that features in many stories across Country. This session explores the different stories of Waagal and the serpent’s important role within them, providing insight into Noongar creation stories and their connection to Country.
Tickets are free, registrations are essential.

- Session 3: Common Cultual Uses of Plants - 15 September 2026
- Session 4: Traditional Dance as a Vessel to Pass on Stories and Culture - 22 September 2026
